Stopped by Stong's Brick Oven Pizzeria in Newport, KY, and got this beauty. Right away, you can tell this pizza means business. The crust is perfectly charred -- that brick oven flavor really comes through. It has a nice crunch on the outside but stays soft and chewy inside. The sauce is rich and fresh, with a bold tomato taste, and the fresh mozzarella melts beautifully into the mix. The sliced tomatoes and basil on top add a refreshing touch that balances the whole thing. A classic Margherita-style pizza done right!

Food was outstanding! The service was a little slow but they were really nice and apologized several times. we got a Nutella pizza for dessert and it was amazing! I would 100% recommend this place for families and friend groups.

The entire table was amazed. The dough was expertly cooked, achieving a perfect harmony between crunch and chew, while the crust was light and full of flavor. Opting for the Quattro Formaggi and adding pepperonis, with the base combination of four artisanal cheeses, paired with the distinctive 'old world sauce' and a sprinkle of olive oil, it truly did not disappoint! Given the exceptional quality, I believe the price is extremely reasonable.

Quaint with friendly staff. You walk in to front counter and brick oven with fresh made going in. The smells are heavenly...I love pizza! My pizza was so yummy I barely made it back to the car before having a bite. If you have a hankering for a delicious brick oven pizza...def try Strong's

So happy to have Strongs back in Newport! It was a favorite of mine and we were bummed to have lost it for a couple of years. Went out on a whim the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, which happened to be their Wednesday special night- build your own large for $16. You can't go wrong with their sliced meatballs as a topping, or ricotta. Their pizza was delicious as always, a large would easily feed 3-4 people, so with 2 we had leftovers to look forward to. Tonight the service was above and beyond. Our server was so helpful and kind. A man who I presume is an owner or manager, came over to check on everyone in the dining room a couple of times, even offering up samples of their spicy habanero tomato sauce. We got a cannoli to go, and hours later at home it was perfect, the shell was still crisp which is hard to find with cannolis at other spots around town. They also sell loaves of their amazing bread, fresh baked, for only $4. All of this to say, go to Strong's! Their pizza is great and they take care of their customers.

The food here was AMAZING. This was probably some of the best pizza I've ever had. The restaurant is also so cute (I was also told it's the 3rd oldest building in the city!). It seems like most people get takeout, but definitely a nice place to stop in. We ate inside, but they said they had just redone the outside patio area and it looked so nice! We met the owners also, and they were the nicest people - still making the pizzas and waiting on tables with the rest of their team! Loved this place and will definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again!

I want more!!! This place will call you back for more. It's hard to find a place that you will crave. The staff is extremely kind and the owner is a solid guy. The patio is small but comfortable and inside is great. Definitely try the meatballs and their special hot sauce.

Great spot in Newport. Cute outdoor patio, our waitress was nice and attentive. Felt like walking into a pizza joint in NYC with the big oven in the front and the overall pizza joint atmosphere. Pizza was very tasty, went with half pep/pineapple & half vodka. The only knock is the pizza could've been a little crispier and wish there was more sauce on the vodka pie. Other than that, it was a great experience and I will be back

Was in town for the Mets/Reds series. Wanted to get some pizza . Walked by this old brick building and thought to give it a try. Walked up the steps and was greeted by a very friendly welcoming employee. He took us to our table and asked if we were ever there before and told him no. He told us the history of the building and the best menu items. So I started with the very fresh and tasty Capri salad. The mozzarella was sliced thick and accompanied red ripe tomatoes, the lettuce was fresh and balsamic was fantastic. We split a pizza the sauce was tangy and sweet really good. The pepperoni was mild and plentiful. Thin crust and baked perfectly. Then finished the meal with the best cannoli I've ever had. It had caramel drizzled over it. Great experience.
